      Location: Syracuse, NY
       
      We are seeking a student to join our team to align and standardize bioreactor scale-up procedure for BMS network with focus on cell line specific requirements that lead to expected outcomes in cell culture performance and CQAs. This work will include scientific research, CFD modeling using ANSYS software, data analysis, and presentation of findings.  The project will require time spent in lab on the CFD system, work with small scale bioreactors, and use modeling software to meet project objectives.

The candidate will have the opportunity to actively partner with various biologics development groups across sites.
       
      Key Responsibilities:
      • The Co-op is expected to complete analysis of results from CFD modeling and small scale production bioreactor run.
      • The Co-op is expected to present the findings at the conclusion of the program via seminar and/or poster presentations.
       
      Key Competencies:
      • Must be enrolled in school the semester before and/or during the assignment, as well as the semester following the assignment, with a 3.0+ GPA.
      • Must be available to work full-time (40 hours/week) from June to December 2018.
      • Qualified candidates will have completed sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate level coursework towards Chemical Engineering, Molecular or Cell Biology, Computer CFD/CAD modeling, or related disciplines.
      • Highly desirable: Cell culture experience and/or CFD/computer modeling experience
      • Demonstrated problem solving ability, interpersonal skills, and oral and written communication skills.
      • Technical writing ability required, as well as expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to perform statistical data analysis.
