      Division: Biologics Global Manufacturing and Supply (GPS) - Syracuse, New York
      Operational Excellence
      • Must be enrolled in school the semester of and/or during the assignment, as well as the semester following the assignment, with a 3.0+ GPA
      • Must be available to work full-time (40 hours/week)
      • Qualified candidates will have completed sophomore, junior, senior or PhD level coursework towards Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Management, Business Management or other related field with an emphasis on Operational Excellence and Lean tools.Interest in biologics manufacturing, quality control or quality assurance also desired.
      • Demonstrated problem solving ability, interpersonal skills, and oral and written communication skills.
      • Technical writing ability preferred, as well as expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.MS Visio experience preferred.

      Project Description:
      Intern will join the OpEx (Operational Excellence) team to support, develop tools, and processes targeted at standard work in our manufacturing areas. The intern will be tasked with observing and evaluating manufacturing processes and then implementing lean tools and appropriate training to improve process flow, process success rate and to optimize scheduling. He/she will learn about applying Lean Six Sigma methodologies to current processes at the site level.
      Improved processes and standard work in manufacturing will directly support site improvement goals of “Done Right the First Time”, cadence improvements, and process waste removal (productivity improvements).
