                        Process Control System Intern / Digital Plant Department
       
      Requirements:
      • Must be enrolled in school the semester of and/or during the assignment, as well as the semester following the assignment, with a 3.0+ GPA
      • Must be available to work full-time (40 hours/week) from June 1 2020 - mid August 2020
      • Demonstrated problem solving ability, interpersonal skills, and oral and written communication skills.
      • Previous work experience in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or a related industry preferred.
      • Qualified candidates will have completed sophomore, junior, senior or PhD level coursework towards a degree in CHEMICAL ENGINEERING, ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING, COMPUTER ENGINEER, OR EQUIVALENT ENGINEERING DEGREE
      • Interpersonal skills, team oriented attitude, ability to effectively participate in multi-disciplined team environment to achieve goals.
      • Experience, or understanding, in computing hardware / software including PCs / servers.
      • This position is an office-based position which requires appropriate levels of personal protective equipment (PPE) when field work is required.
      • Frequent repeated motions such as keyboarding are required.
      • This position is based indoors and you will primarily be working with others, but also independently and alone at times.
         
      Required Skills:
      • MS Operating System experience
      • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Visio, OneNote, etc.)
      • Technical writing ability required and the ability to perform statistical data analysis.
      • Experience in a programming language (Visual Basic, C++, XML, SQL, Ladder Logic, etc.)
      • General understanding of computer networks
       
      Project Description:
          The intern will have the opportunity to work with the Digital Plant team to complete a project based on the Operations need and project availability.
       
      DeltaV HMI Graphic Upgrade and Conversion
      The Intern will be responsible for working with Operations for converting the existing DeltaV graphics package from DeltaV Operate (iFIX and VBA) to DeltaV Live (HTML5).  This will include leading meetings with various operation teams to obtain feedback on the current graphic state and opportunities to improve and enhance based on job requirements and needs.  The conversion process will apply Human-centered design philosophies as part of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) to enhance the user’s interaction with the system.  The latest version of DeltaV v14.3.1 allows both applications to run simultaneously facilitating a seamless transition to the new graphics package. 
       
       
      Key Deliverables at Project Completion: 
      Interns are expected to present the results from their specific assignments at the conclusion of the internship via a poster presentation to colleagues and a departmental presentation.

      1. Modify existing practices and gain customer approval for the proposed enhancements.
      2. Identify and report on the business value from the proposed enhancements.
